In this website, we’ve been emphasizing the importance of having a church home. Friend, do you have a church family? In addition to having church friendships and a pastor, people who have a church home also have deacons to assist and to serve the needs of the congregation.
Fellowship is certainly blessed to have Bro. James Pascarella, our dedicated deacon who serves his Lord and his church faithfully.
As the early church grew, arguments arose about who was going to take care of those who had special needs in the church (Acts 6:1). The Holy Spirit directed the church to set apart spirit filled men whose responsibility it was to take care of the fatherless and the widows, as well as those in the church who required physical or other assistance.
One good reason for having a church family is for help, friendship and fellowship in times of ill health or trouble. Simply put, the pastor helps with the spiritual supply while the deacon helps with the physical supply.
This said, good pastors sometimes perform the duties of a deacon and a good deacon must sometimes perform the duties of a pastor. We try to follow the biblical example here at Fellowship.
If you or a family member are sick or in the hospital, or if
there is a need that we can help you with, rest assured, you
will most likely be visited by both the pastor and a deacon!
